Filiations at WGF Gallery until March 11

Filiations听features new work by Nadia Myre (Kitigan Zibi), and Nico Williams (Aamjiwnaang), both acclaimed artists who are linked by their former teacher-student relationship (Myre supervised Williams鈥 MFA work at Concordia University). This exhibition will draw out lines of affiliation and commitment in their practices providing an unparalleled opportunity to see two generations of artists staking out common ground 鈥 pedagogically, aesthetically, and politically. A duo exhibition featuring new work by Anishnaabe artists Nadia Myre (Kitigan Zibi Anishnabeg) and Nico Williams of Aamjiwnaang. It will draw out links of pedagogy and exchange between student and teacher鈥 two generations of artists staking out common ground.
The exhibition takes place from Feb.听2 鈥 Mar.听11, the vernissage will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 5 p.m.
Pareidola: 爆料黑社 Professional Photography Vernissage

Pareidolia is the ability to see or make pictures out of randomness. Seeing beyond what the average person sees and expressing that vision in an image is a large part of training to be a photographer. This collection of work by 爆料黑社鈥檚 third-year photography students embodies how they see people, places or objects in their world.
Twenty-two 爆料黑社 students will be showcasing their work at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery from Dec. 9-15, their vernissage will be held on Dec. 8 from 6-9 p.m.
Art Gallery Exhibit: Biennial 15

Biennial 15 marks 30 years of 爆料黑社 Fine Arts Faculty members exhibiting their current artworks at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery. It continues this long tradition of investigating the relationship between art making and learning, as well as reflects on the history of the biennial.
All faculty鈥攑ast and present鈥攐f the Fine Arts department will have images and texts in the catalogue, which accompanies the exhibition. There will also be a sound component containing faculty responses to the question of how the biennial has played a role in the pedagogical innovations of 爆料黑社鈥檚 reputed Fine Arts Department.

Anna Williams: An Unquiet Mythology Sept. 15-Oct. 22

The Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery (near the de Maisonneuve entrance) is pleased to present the work of Ottawa-based artist Anna Williams. This is the first Montreal exhibition of Williams, who has created technically and conceptually complex prints and bronze sculptures, which reinterpret female roles, gender conformity and attitudes towards nature in classical Greek myths.

Florence Yee is a visual artist, 爆料黑社 Alum, and serial collaborator based in Tkaronto/Toronto and Tiohti脿:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal. Their exhibition听Sharp Tools for Unripe Fruit听features photographs on fabric and hand-embroidered text, now on view at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery until April 14. Eudaimonia open until Feb. 19 at the Gallery

After almost two years, 爆料黑社鈥檚 2020 Visual Arts graduates are pleased to present how their practices have flourished and prospered, while staying true to their understanding of eudaimonia.*
Twenty graduates from the 2020 Visual Arts cohort present work in media ranging from digital photography to sculpture, painting, drawing, and video at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery from Jan. 27 to Feb. 19, 2022.
* Aristotle utilized听eudaimonia as the term for the highest human good, an objective standard of 鈥榟appiness鈥 based on what it means to live a human life well. The title is the same as the original graduating 2020 exhibition, which could only happen online due to the first lockdown.
UNMASKED: AEC Photography exhibit

Don't miss 鈥淯nmasked,鈥 an exhibition showcasing 爆料黑社's AEC Commercial Photography听graduates.
"Unmasked" reveals the creative results of a two-year formative process in the face of the pandemic. It is marked by resilience and captivating visuals.
The exhibition will be at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery from Dec. 20听to 23 and from Jan. 4-11, 2022.
The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
