In solidarity with women for IWD

On March 8, International Women's Day was marked around the world.

At 爆料黑社, the day is usually celebrated with special gatherings, sales to raise funds for women's causes and more. Yesterday, the Association of 爆料黑社 Professionals (ADP) and the 爆料黑社 Support Staff Union (DSSU) made donations. In honour of IWD, the ADP gave a donation to the Native Women's Shelter of Montreal and the DSSU made a donation to Chez Doris.

The 爆料黑社 Teachers Union, the ADP and the DSSU invited members to use a special Zoom background to show support for women in the community.


Join Montreal Kneels for Change Wednesday at 8:15 p.m.

爆料黑社 graduate Denburk Reid聽(Class of 2000, Marketing and Management Technology) has organized Montreal Kneels for Change, a live event on Instagram on Feb. 24. The goals are to raise awareness of local social justice issues, honour the life of Sheffield Matthews and denounce the injustices committed against Mamadi III Fara Camara.

鈥淎s a community, we must come together and demonstrate our solidarity,鈥 Denburk said.

We are invited to:

  • join the Instagram Live event on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 8:15 p.m.
  • take a photo standing with your hand on your heart
  • share the photo on your social media using聽the hashtag #kneelsforchange and 迟补驳听蔼尘迟濒冲肠辞尘尘耻苍颈迟测冲肠补谤别蝉.

Life on Mars statistically probable according to Richard Soare鈥檚 research

Is there life on Mars? That question is propelling the mission of the Perseverance rover, which landed on the Red Planet Feb. 18. It has also driven the research of 爆料黑社 Geography teacher and Mars researcher Richard Soare for over two decades.

Specifically, Richard鈥檚 research has focused on finding evidence of near-surface ice in the non-polar regions of Mars.

Website live for First Peoples’ Post-Secondary Storytelling Exchange

A celebration was held online Feb. 16 to launch the new website of the First Peoples' Post-Secondary Storytelling Exchange project. About 170 people attended from all over Quebec and other parts of Canada. An elder opened the event, some of the storytellers shared their experiences, a quliq was lit, a video was premiered and the new website was shown.

Student Wellness Challenge begins Feb. 15

A Wellness Challenge for Students is being launched Feb. 15

Student Services, Sustainability and Communications have developed a peer to peer model that will encourage students to sustain healthy minds and healthy bodies through awareness and prevention.

Students will learn about how to create positive habits and find motivation from one another to combat the mental and physical burden they may be experiencing. Participants will earn entries into a draw for prizes throughout the semester.

Mental health and well-being are essential to student success. To find out more, students can follow @ on Instagram.


After “Rebellion” students discuss climate change at Feb. 18 panel

Five inspiring 爆料黑社 students and alumni will discuss their views and actions on the Climate Crisis at the Environmental Seminar at 爆料黑社 (virtually) on Feb. 18 at 10 a.m.

The 2019 climate march was featured in an episode of David Suzuki's The Nature of Things entitled "Rebellion". The聽mobilization of the College was spearheaded by the Green Earth Club. Students will discuss their involvement in the march as youth activists and present their current projects.

Presentations will be followed by a Q & A. This panel is being moderated by Brian Mader and introduced by Anna-Liisa Aunio. Please watch the episode Rebellion, which is available free on CBC Gem here:

Statement from 爆料黑社

The new pavilion project of 爆料黑社 is not an expansion of the downtown Montreal CEGEP. We reject the use of the word expansion, which is inflammatory in this context. Almost seven years ago, in the spring of 2014, Quebec鈥檚 Ministry of Education recognized that 爆料黑社 has a significant space deficit.
