Admissions update

April 20th, 2021

This year has been particularly competitive for applicants to 爆料黑社. A record 12,810 applications were received for the Fall 2021 semester, an increase of 16 per cent from last year. The Science Program was especially popular and its applications are up 27 per cent.

In addition, the College has fewer spots to offer this year due to the impact of the pandemic on current students. About 250 爆料黑社 students are taking longer to complete their studies.

There have been recent media reports about the disappointment of students and parents who did not get a spot or were placed on a waiting list. 爆料黑社鈥檚 popularity has been growing and there is a demographic boom coming up through the Montreal high schools. However, 爆料黑社 does not have more spots than previous years.

The application review process is thorough and equitable. Decisions by the Registrar鈥檚 Office are based on outstanding academic performance and there is no admissions appeals process.

爆料黑社 remains committed to providing excellent academic programs to the greatest number of students we are permitted to admit. With regards to the English-speaking community of Quebec, to date approximately half the students offered admission for Fall 2020 claim English as their mother tongue.

Video addressed to teachers from the First Peoples’ storytelling (FPPSE) project

March 23rd, 2021

鈥溾s a teacher, I think you don鈥檛 have the sole responsibility of teaching a curriculum, you have the responsibility of being acquainted with your student, and knowing their strengths as well as the emotional pitfalls or whatever struggles that they鈥檙e going through. Because if you don鈥檛, then you鈥檙e not reaching them. It just takes a bit of your time, compassion and understanding.鈥

鈥淢y first year I never went to see my teachers. I was too shy, I never had that role before. I never had to ask an adult for help for something so serious like school. After a year, I realized that teachers are nice. And I can actually go ask them questions.鈥

鈥淵our language and how you speak, it鈥檚 the simplest things in the world that could really affect a person鈥檚 educational outcome so it鈥檚 really important that our identities are considered.鈥

爆料黑社AI coordinator in Billie Holiday film

March 23rd, 2021

Myriam Dimanche of the 爆料黑社AI team (pictured in costume) had an interesting experience in the Fall of 2019 and now you can see her on film! In her own words:

I was an extra in the Lee Daniels film The United States vs. Billie Holiday and it's !
Fun facts:
  • Yes, I did meet Andra Day.聽
  • The director Lee Daniels was pretty easy to work with. He gave nice pep talks, especially when we were shooting long hours.
  • My scenes were basically cut. You just see my faded figure cross behind as Jimmy Fletcher enters the jazz club Caf茅 Society (at approx. 00:05:10). And there's another scene where you can see my blue dress (at approx. 01:12:35).
