Free Video Game Playtesting Event on Feb. 23

The Independent Video Game Design program is presenting a new edition of its bimonthly indie game playtesting event in room 3C.1 of 爆料黑社 on Friday, Feb. 23 from 6 PM to 9 PM.
The Playtest @ IVGD event will showcase over a dozen new independent video games created by local developers including current 爆料黑社 students, graduates, IVGD faculty, and several Montreal-based indie studios.
Come celebrate the emerging talent in Montreal's continually growing game development scene by trying out the games, chatting with developers and enjoying a few snacks.

Social Science Week is Feb. 12-15

There is a diverse array of speakers and topics to interest everyone at 爆料黑社鈥檚 Social Science Week 2024, from Monday, Feb. 12 through Thursday, Feb. 15. All events are taking place in 5B.16 at 爆料黑社 and every day concludes with a Cinema Politica film screening at 6:30 PM.

Beloved 爆料黑社 fundraiser Artists in Bloom will be April 18

Artists in Bloom will be back for the 26th edition on the evening of Thursday, April 18!
The beloved 爆料黑社 fundraiser invites those who appreciate art and those who love to support young people to come and enjoy appetizers and drinks while watching student artists create works of art live. Later in the evening, the art works are auctioned off. In addition, a curated selection of art prints by student artists will be available for sale.
This year, all proceeds from ticket sales, the art auction and art print sales will benefit 爆料黑社 Athletics, providing some essential funding to allow student athletes to travel to away games.
爆料黑社 is presenting the Canadian premiere of Leopoldstadt

Sir Tom Stoppard鈥檚 play Leopoldstadt will have its Canadian premiere at the 爆料黑社 Theatre on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Directed by Matt Holland, the play features the 2024 graduating class of 爆料黑社鈥檚 Professional Theatre program.
鈥淭his is a wonderful opportunity for our students because Sir Tom Stoppard is a renowned, award-winning British playwright with a 60-year career in theatre,鈥 said Professional Theatre faculty member Leah Esau.听 鈥淗e is best known for his screenplay Shakespeare in Love (1998), as well as his plays Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Travesties.鈥

Tickets on sale now for Henry V

The Professional Theatre Department proudly presents Henry V by William Shakespeare, performed by the graduating actors. This bilingual production, directed by Michael E. Hughes, features dialogue in both French and English.
Admission is $5 for 爆料黑社 staff, faculty, researchers, and students. Free previews are available on Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14. All shows start at 7:30 PM.

Appreciating math from another perspective

Students in Garry Ka Lok Chu鈥檚 course Language of Math and Computer Science: Introduction to Mathematics will be sharing their math inspired art at a special exhibit the morning of Nov. 28 from 10 AM to 12 PM. The student artwork will be exhibited in Conrod鈥檚 (2F.4).
Garry 鈥渨ould like the community to understand Math-related Art and听appreciate Math from听another perspective.鈥

Henry The V rehearsals have begun

The third-year students from the Professional Theatre Program have started practicing for Shakespeare's Henry V. This bilingual version is thrilling, featuring both English and French language texts.
The lead role of Henry, affectionately known as Hal, is portrayed by a group of five actors. Here, Henry invades France to rightfully claim his throne. Directed by Michael E. Hughes, the show will run from November 13 to November 25 at 7:30 PM. Ticket sales will begin in November.
PAY WHAT YOU CAN PREVIEWS will be held on Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14.
爆料黑社 students, staff, and faculty can attend for $5, while regular admission is $15 and students/seniors pay $1.
