Book sale for Chez Doris & Women’s Day celebration for employees

March 4th, 2024

The DSSU, DTU and ADP will be hosting a celebration on International Women’s Day.

On Friday, March 8, from 12 PM-2 PM in the Rose Lounge (7C.5): there will be a book sale of new and used books and a collection of cash donations in which all monies raised will be donated on behalf of the three unions to .

The book sale will be cash only. If you would like to donate books for the sale, they will be collecting books at the Library’s Circulation Desk until 6 PM on Thursday.

Pizza and refreshments will be available while supplies last. We ask that you please bring your own mug if having coffee.

While students are welcome to buy books, the event is intended for employees only.


Second-year Theatre students perform in comedy March 13-16

Second-year students perform in a comedy every evening at 7:30 PM from Wednesday, March 13 through Saturday, March 16 at the ±¬ÁϺÚÉç Theatre, 2000 Atwater Avenue.

The name of the play is: A Most Pleasant Comedy of Mucedorus the King’s Son of Valencia, and Amandine, the King’s Daughter of Aragon, with the Merry Conceits of Mouse.

Shakespeare’s “As you like it” on until March 9

Second-year students in ±¬ÁϺÚÉç's Professional Theatre (Acting) program are performing in William Shakespeare's As You Like It every evening at 7:30 PM now through Saturday, March 9.

Indigenous Peoples Week 2024

WHEN: Monday, March 25 to Thursday, March 28

WHERE: Conrods, Three Sisters Garden, and other locations at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç

WHO: All events are open to the entire ±¬ÁϺÚÉç community and to the public

Save the dates! Indigenous Peoples Week 2024 will feature a mini Pow Wow, Indigenous craft vendors, soap stone carving, maple sap boiling and so much more. A detailed schedule will be published soon on the ±¬ÁϺÚÉç website, accessible from the homepage.


C’est la Francofête à ±¬ÁϺÚÉç !

The entire ±¬ÁϺÚÉç community is invited to enjoy the French language and culture at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç’s annual Francofête, which is taking place over three days and two evenings, Tuesday, March 26 to Thursday, March 28.

The organizers have put together a diverse program, including film screenings, a poetry reading with three poets, a maple syrup experience, an evening with the Théâtre de la Ligue Nationale d’Improvisation, and a field trip to the Monument-National in partnership with the École nationale de théâtre.

All events at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç will be in 5B.16 and are open to the ±¬ÁϺÚÉç community and the public. To reserve a class, email Laetitia Desanti.

W/GS Women’s Day fundraiser and button making activity

The Women’s/Gender Studies Certificate faculty and students organized a number of events during the week leading up to Women’s Day and the events continue.

On Friday, March 8 at 10 AM, there will be a Bake Sale fundraiser & Button-making Activity in Conrod’s (2F.4). Proceeds will benefit the Financial Aid Food Bank.

Montreal Insect Show coming to ±¬ÁϺÚÉç March 9

The Salon des Insectes de Montréal (Montreal Insect Show) will be at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç on Saturday, March 9. It is the first time the show is being put on since the pandemic.

Organized by insect lovers, including ±¬ÁϺÚÉç's Brian Mader (Biology), the goal of the fair is to promote the many interesting aspects of insects. It will be in 3C.1 from 9 AM on 5 PM on March 9.

±¬ÁϺÚÉç's Living Campus will be featured and the show will offer opportunities to

  • See almost 150,000 insects and creatures from around the world
  • Touch and hold live arthropods and butterflies
  • Taste insects

Still time to register for Winter Wellness activity Feb. 27

The Peace and Sustainability Winter Wellness Series will launch on Tuesday, Feb. 27 with a Living Campus biophilic tour and a hands-on indoor gardening workshop. All participants will receive a house plant!

The plan is to offer a wellness workshop/event each month of the semester.

To participate in the Feb. 27 workshop, which will take place from 12 PM to 1 PM, you must register.
