Springtime at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç means Artists in Bloom! It is only one week away; you can It will be at 5:30 PM on Thursday, April 17 in 3C.1. Some new and exciting things will take place at this year’s edition, including more student artists and more paintings in the live auction.
Ticket prices are only $25 for adults and $15 for students with ID. Free for those 12 and under.
Tickets include one drink (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) and finger food served starting at 6 PM. A cash bar will be available to purchase other drinks. Proceeds will support student mental health and student vernissage season. Get your ticket(s) in the link.Â

Springtime at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç means Artists in Bloom! The date for this year’s edition will be Thursday, April 17. Event goers can enjoy live music, appetizers and drinks while watching student artists create artwork. The evening concludes with an art auction to benefit graduating students' vernissage events for the programs of Illustration and Visual Arts as well as the Student Mental Health Fund.
This year will be the fundraising event’s 27th annual edition! We are excited about the event and looking forward to seeing what our talented student artists will produce. More details to come!
Book sale for Chez Doris & Women’s Day celebration for employees

The DSSU, DTU and ADP will be hosting a celebration in honour of International Women’s Day.
On Monday, March 10, from 12 PM-2 PM in the Rose Lounge (7C.5), there will be a book sale of new and used books and a collection of cash donations in which all monies raised will be donated on behalf of the three unions to .
The book sale will be cash only. If you would like to donate books for the sale, you can drop them off either at the Library Circulation Desk or to Christine or Carey in 4A.1 by Thursday, March 6 at 4 PM.
A light lunch will be available while supplies last. We ask that you please bring your own mug if having coffee.
While students are welcome to buy books, the event is intended for employees only.
Interior Design students raise thousands of dollars in an hour

On Jan. 22, a class of Interior Design students were told at 10 AM that if they could raise $500 in an hour for their Vernissage, a donor would match the $500.
Chris Adam of the Office of Sustainability shared a story with them about a Community, Recreation and Leadership Training class that raised over $2,000 in an hour many years ago to get the Peace Garden project started.

New life for your old glasses

The Office of Sustainability and students in the Social Change and Solidarity (SCS) profile of Social Science have plans for your old glasses.
The SCS students will bring the glasses on their solidarity trip to Cuba in late December. The glasses will be distributed to their partners on the island. Ultimately, your old glasses will provide the gift of improved vision to people in need.
Drop off your old glasses in the Upper Atrium at ±¬ÁϺÚÉç on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 9 AM to 3 PM. After that time, glasses can be left in the recycling centre on the second floor by the escalators.
Winter Clothing Drive for Refugees and Newcomers

The ±¬ÁϺÚÉç Teachers' Union has joined the effort of to collect outdoor winter clothing for refugee claimants and newcomers. We are asking the ±¬ÁϺÚÉç community to contribute winter coats, boots, snowsuits, snow pants, and accessories like scarves, mittens, gloves, and hats for both adults and children. Items can be used but should be in good condition. Note that other items such as sweaters and rain boots are not accepted.
Please bring donations to the DTU office (8A.11) between now and Monday, Dec. 9.
