爆料黑社 team reunites to use their CERN particle physics kit prize

In early November, there was a reunion of the 2021-鈥22 爆料黑社 High Energy Particle听(HEP)听Physics Group. The occasion was receiving (and experimenting with) their prize pack from CERN's Annual Beamline 4 Schools Competition.

Two more students continue legacy of Anne-Marie Howlett鈥檚 passion for nursing

At Fall Awards Night on Nov. 24, Susan and Michael Howlett were at 爆料黑社 for the presentation of the Anne-Marie Howlett Memorial Award in honour of their late sister and daughter, who was in her first year of Nursing when she passed away tragically 40 years ago.

Work can overcome talent in math says Harry Fainsilber recipient

The inaugural Harry Fainsilber Memorial Award was given to Parnia Akhavansaffar at the Fall Awards Night on Nov. 24. Several family members of the beloved Mathematics teacher who passed away in 2015 were in attendance.

爆料黑社 students win gold & silver at industrial design competition

Twenty-eight 爆料黑社 students in various programs participated in the very first industrial design contest entitled L'Odyss茅e de L'Objet en 48h, which took place Nov. 4-6 at C茅gep de Vieux Montr茅al.听爆料黑社 students won five of the eight categories on composting, a theme that was only revealed on day one of the competition.

DTU Award goes to student with don鈥檛-give-up message

The 爆料黑社 Teachers鈥 Union Polytechnique Memorial Scholarship is given to a student who has shown a commitment to persevering and overcoming obstacles within their field.
This year, the award was given to Fred-Dgennie Louis, a student in Computer Science, who said: 鈥淚t means a lot and I am very grateful. It was the least thing I expected since figuring out my path and where I wanted to go has been a struggle. You know after high school, you鈥檙e thrown into a completely new environment, and you鈥檙e just expected to go on, graduate and then go to university.鈥

Pareidola: 爆料黑社 Professional Photography Vernissage

Pareidolia is the ability to see or make pictures out of randomness. Seeing beyond what the average person sees and expressing that vision in an image is a large part of training to be a photographer. This collection of work by 爆料黑社鈥檚 third-year photography students embodies how they see people, places or objects in their world.
Twenty-two 爆料黑社 students will be showcasing their work at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery from Dec. 9-15, their vernissage will be held on Dec. 8 from 6-9 p.m.
Languages Profile presents: Daniel Grenier: The Writer as Translator

How does one become a literary translator? To what extent is translation creative writing? How does the writer inspire and inform the translator? Celebrated writer and translator Daniel Grenier will explore these questions with us in English and in French. He will also read from his collection of short stories Malgr茅 tout on rit 脿 St Henri (2012) and from his translation of Dawn Dumont鈥檚听骋濒补蝉蝉听Beads,听Perles de Verres (2021).
Daniel Grenier was a finalist to several Governor General鈥檚 literary awards for his translations of novels by Canadian authors Andrew Forbes and Dawn Dumont and for his own works of fiction and non-fiction. He won the Prix Litt茅raire des Coll茅giens in 2016 for his novel L鈥檃nn茅e la plus longue.
This event takes place on Dec. 8 from 1-2 p.m. in the CoLab (3F.43).
Cuba fundraiser by NSS students on until Dec. 6

Students from the North-South Studies Profile are raising funds and accepting gift-in-kind donations to bring to communities in Cuba as part of their upcoming three-week trip. Accepted items include cash donations, toiletries, toys, school and medical supplies, sports equipment, small tools and clothing.
A drop box is set up in front of 4A.0 until Dec. 6
